Free Webinar: Dec 16, 2010 – Who you gonna call? Place and receive Phone Calls from your Web Browser using PhonoSDK
Speaker: Chris Matthieu, Director Business Development, Voxeo
Abstract: Phono SDK is a simple jQuery plugin and JavaScript library that turns any web browser into a phone; capable of making/receiving phone calls and sending/receiving instant messages for free. You can even connect to SIP clients and Tropo/Evolution App Ids; all with a simple unified API.
The Phono SDK is a pure client-side solution and requires zero server-side logic on your part; all communication is handled transparently by the Voxeo Cloud. In the near future Voxeo will release a downloadable Phono Gateway that allows Phono to connect to any SIP Voice over IP infrastructure directly without the Voxeo cloud.
A few interesting use cases that we have seen in the community include:
- Click-to-call
- Web chat
- Video gaming VoIP conferences
- Call center routing to agents via SIP
- Browser conversations with users including page interaction
In this developer jam session, Chris Matthieu, Director Business Development at Voxeo Labs, will walk you through the Phono SDK capabilities and will perform some live coding to demonstrate how easy it is to add a telephone to your browser application.
