I discovered by way of the tweets from the IPv6Summit.ca folks that the great folks at The Voice Report recently held a free 60-minute webinar on:

What Enterprises Need to Know About IPv6

Unfortunately the recording of the webinar is not yet available (although you can sign up to be notified when it is out), but they did make a PDF of the slides available at:

I’m looking forward to hearing what they said about the slides because from my point-of-view they certainly hit all the major points. They include some great network diagrams and do address the “large scale NAT” situation that will undoubtedly be how many carriers go about getting more IPv4 addresses.

The Voice Report folks state that the webinar will help you:

  • Understand the implications of wide-scale IPv6 deployment on the service provider networks you use every day
  • Get a roadmap that gives you a planning timeline to accommodate IPv6 in your operations
  • Discover the likely IPv6 “pain points” in your network – and what you can do now to fix them
  • Tap into a bulletproof checklist you should use to make sure your vendors’ equipment and networks are ready for IPv6
  • Take a deep dive into how IPv6 is implemented on service provider networks … and the implications for your technology decisions

And it does look from the slides like it hits all of that.

Good to see these kind of presentations going on out there…
